Why VPN ?
Personal information protection
When you access Internet most of the traffic between you and remote hosts goes unencrypted. All your network activities can be stored in logs by your ISP. Websites keep access logs too. These logs can be kept for a very long time and can be used against you in the future.
Hackers can sniff network traffic searching for personal information e.g. credit card numbers, logins, passwords.
If you use VPN, all incoming and outgoing traffic goes inside encrypted tunnel. Your IPS cannot see which sites you visit. Moreover it is not even possible to determine which protocol is used for your connection - HTTP, FTP, VoIP, etc. The only thing your ISP and hackers can see is a bunch of encrypted packets.
Remote host cannot see what your real IP adress is, so you are protected against any action from both sides.Safe Bittorrent downloads
Every month hundreds of people are getting pre-lawsuit notices and some are sued. Everything you download can be seen by your ISP. It can throttle or even block all your traffic. In addition, a recent European law allows ISP to disconnect you from the Internet.
While you are downloading via bittorrent, your IP address is fixed by trackers and is visible to all peers. Any of those peers can function as an Internet investigator working for RIAA. The encryption some bittorrent clients have, can only be used to circumvent traffic throttling and not for purpose of security. When your bittorrent client connects via VPN, it is impossible to see your real IP address. All data coming from you peers is also encrypted, so nobody knows what you download.Virtual firewall
The first thing every hacker needs to know is his target's IP address. When you use VPN, hackers will only see our server's IP address. VPN becomes your virtual firewall.
Wi-Fi hotspots protection
Enjoying your favorite cup of coffee while you're surfing the internet in a coffee shop? In case you don't know yet, the wireless connections between your laptop and the free wi-fi access points found in coffee shops, airport, hotels, libraries, etc., are not encrypted. This means that the stranger sitting beside you, might be sniffing the airwaves with his laptop, he is reading what you are reading, and can read what you are sending on the Internet. Thanks to VPN protection, you will be secured and will surely enjoy your favorite coffee.
Unrestricted Access
We know it for a fact, that certain countries ban and censor their citizen's Internet activity. We see this in the news...citizens of certain countries are banned from accessing certain well-known international news sites, citizens banned from accessing certain search engines, blogs, news groups, etc. All their Internet activities are either heavily monitored or even blocked.
When VPN is used, people can bypass all restrictions and use Skype even if it is blocked in their region, access all blocked web sites, such as gambling, adult and blog sites, watch American TV, access Flickr, YouTube and much more.
Here is the list of countries censoring the Internet:
